March, April, May:
This time of year, in the Lower
Niagara River and Lake Ontario, has some of the greatest fishing on
the planet. With some Kings and Coho Salmon ranging
from15 to 30 lbs, some of these fish are worthy of wall mounting.
(Mounting is available)
June,
July, August:
With warmer waters, the fishing
is great this time of year. The 3rd Saturday in June till
December 1st is great Bass fishing with some of
these monsters reaching up to 6 lbs. after the moss flows through
the river. July is the time to find the finicky Walleye.
The average fish weighs
approximately 5 lbs to 8lbs. Some say that the next world record
will come from this great fishery. Walleye have been caught
into the teens each year.
September,
October, November:
The Monsters return (King
Salmon) this time of year. Brown trout also return to this great
fishery at this time. Brown trout have been taken up to the 20lbs
range during these months.
December, January, February:
Steelhead
are in full swing. The Steelhead run is the marking period
for everyone to start thinking and wishing spring is coming, but
hold on... there’s still plenty of fishing to do. The Brown Trout
season opens this time of year. In January, Lake Trout opens
and there’s plenty of fun to be had here with some fish taken up to
30lbs.
